Indoor Leisure Contracting Arrangements 2017/10/24B
To agree the appointment of a new Leisure Centre operator.
Following a report to Executive in May 2018 it was agreed that Manchester City Council would enter into a contract for the operation of leisure facilities following a competitive tender exercise. It was agreed by Executive that the key decision would be undertaken once agreement had been sought from key stakeholders, such as Sport England (who are required to give consent) and following a full VAT Assessment. This work has now been satisfactorily completed and therefore, the Council is seeking to enter into a Leisure contract that will have a significant positive impact on residents from all wards across Manchester. This will also result in the savings target agreed by Full Council in 2017 being met from 2019/20 and beyond.
