Remove the Roadblocks in Levenshulme

We the undersigned petition the Council to We the undersigned want the removal of these roadblocks now, and we want a commitment from Manchester City Council that they will properly engage with our community to design fair, equitable and community supported plans, that encourage and facilitate more active lifestyles and address existing problems such as as speeding and volume of through traffic. We also require that this engagement not take place via web platforms such as commonplace: the data collected proves that this is a systematically exclusive way to engage with our extremely diverse community.

We the undersigned require Manchester City Council to remove the roadblocks in place throughout Levenshulme, until such time as a fair and Equitable Active Neighbourhood plan is designed which has support across all segments of our community.

As members of a strong and cohesive community, we insist that you do not move traffic from our quieter residential roads onto our already busy residential roads, thereby causing pollution levels which are almost certainly at or above the legal levels in certain areas.

We are not prepared to suffer nor watch our neighbours suffer any longer. Manchester City Council has continually failed the residents of Levenshulme throughout this entire project and we insist that no more money is spent on the current fundamentally flawed plan.

We the undersigned want the removal of these roadblocks now, and we want a commitment from Manchester City Council that they will properly engage with our community to design fair, equitable and community supported plans, that encourage and facilitate more active lifestyles and address existing problems such as as speeding and volume of through traffic.
