Black Lives Matter
We the undersigned petition the Council to Commission a permanent mural in Manchester City Centre to commemorate George Floyd and the huge Black Lives Matter protests in Manchester and across the world demanding justice and an end to racism.
Manchester is a proudly multi-cultural, diverse and anti-racist
City. We are disappointed a mural of George Floyd in Stephenson
Square was painted over which not only commemorated the tragic loss
of a human life but represented the ongoing commitment to the
struggle for justice.
This is why we need a permanent memorial.
