The recent safer streets improvements have significantly IMPROVED AIR QUALITY in the neighbourhood and have made the streets SAFER for pedestrians and cyclists, especially CHILDREN WALKING TO SCHOOL .
People who say there was no consultation are WRONG. Residents were leafleted , several public consultation meetings were held and there was the opportunity to voice opinion online.
For people living on these roads as well as Crompton , Ranford , Kempton and Roads with asthma or other breathing and related conditions, things have VASTLY improved .
IT IS THEIR RIGHT TO FREEDOM FROM AIR POLLUTION AND STREETS WHICH ARE SAFE TO WALK ON, WHICH FAR OUTWEIGHS THE SO CALLED " FREEDOM" TO DRIVE AT WILL THROUGH OUR OTHERWISE QUIET RESIDENTIAL STREETS , PARTICULARLY AT SCHOOL PICK UP AND DROP OFF TIMES when streams of vehicles formerly used our streets as a RAT-RUN .
The area is now an altogether more pleasant, safe and healthy place to live . Please do not take this away from us.
