To award a contract to Manchester Active who will responsible for delivering the Council's Sport and Leisure Strategy. 2017/10/24C

Following a report to Executive in May 2018 it was agreed that Manchester City Council would establish a single governance vehicle for overseeing and delivering the Council’s strategy for sport and leisure and to transfer the associated workforce and delivery budgets. This arrangement is to enable closer working and opportunities for co-investment between the three major public funders of sport and physical activity services in Manchester, namely Manchester City Council, Sport England and Health organisations. Manchester Active is the company that has been developed to deliver on this important priority and the contract value for 2019/20 represents the agreed budget held by the Council to be transferred in full. All existing sport and leisure services provided directly by the Council will continue under the terms of the contract with Manchester Active and it is anticipated that a range of new initiatives will be developed over the next 12 months as a result of the co-investment opportunities.
