The junction at Blackley New Rd and Lakeside Rise has become increasingly hazardous due to poor visibility caused by illegally parked vehicles. These vehicle Rule 243 of the Highway Code.

Recent accidents, including one that I personally experienced as a new immigrant to this area, highlight the urgent need for action. Despite previous reports from residents, the situation has not improved, and the junction remains a danger to all road users.

We request the council to prioritize the safety of our community by:

Extending double yellow lines near the junction to enforce safe parking distances.

Adding clear signage to remind drivers of parking laws and the 10-meter rule.
Reducing the speed limit on Blackley New Rd to minimize risks.

Considering the installation of a mini-roundabout to improve visibility and traffic flow.

This matter is time-sensitive, as further accidents or even fatalities are highly likely if no action is taken. By signing this petition, we urge the council to prioritize this issue and ensure the safety of all road users.
