Appeal against the decision to revoke a Street Trading Consent - Back A Yard
The report of the Director of Planning, Building Control and Licensing is enclosed.
Minutes:
Appeals from this Sub-Committee in relation to Street Trading Consent applications will be considered by the full Licensing & Appeals Committee.
The Principal Licensing Officer stated that this item concerned an appeal against the Sub-Committee’s decision on 9 September 2024 to revoke this street trader consent. The street trader’s legal representative had contacted the Licensing Team requesting that the hearing be deferred to another date, owing to a family emergency. When asked for further detail, the legal representative stated that a family member had passed away. The Principal Licensing Officer confirmed that the Licensing Team had requested that the street trader themselves attend the hearing today but noted that they were not present.
The Committee were invited to consider whether to go ahead with the hearing in the street trader and their appointed representative’s absence.
(Councillors Bano and Hughes left the meeting before the commencement of this item as they sat on the Licensing and Appeals Sub-Committee where the street trader consent was revoked).
Decision
To defer the matter to the next meeting of the Licensing and Appeals Committee on 2 December 2024.
