Minutes:

Consideration was given to a report of the Director of Planning, Building Control and Licensing regarding a new Premises Licence application.

The Hearing Panel considered the written papers and oral representations of all parties, as well as the relevant legislation and guidance.

The applicant addressed the Hearing Panel, noting that there was an objection from GMP that had been withdrawn as the conditions requested by GMP had been accepted by the applicant. They noted there is one outstanding objection from a local councillor.

The Panel sought to clarify information regarding the addresses. The applicant stated that they used the address they were registered for to pay Council Tax due to the Cultural Centre not having a number. Using this address makes it easier for deliveries.

In summing up, the applicant addressed the remaining objectors’ concerns. The applicant felt the concerns were more about the environment than the shop itself. They stated the shop is aimed at those who keep Kosher, and these people would not drive to the shop, which was a concern of the objector. The applicant addressed concerns around litter by stating that any shop can create litter.

Decision

To grant the Licence as amended with GMP conditions.
