To extend the block contract with Potens for the period of 1 April 2020 to -31 March 2021 as part of the Adults Contract Framework Extension for the provision of 14 beds all of which are supported accommodation.

The Executive Director of Adult Services approves the extension of the block contract with Potens for the period of 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021 as part of the Adults Contract Framework Extension, to cover the cost of 14 beds, all of which are supported accommodation.

The current contract expired on 31 March 2020.  The contract was in the process of being reviewed, however, due to the COVID19 pandemic this process was put on hold, hence agreement was given for this to be extended for a further 12 months.

Manchester City Council has a duty of care to the residents in relation to continuation of service and Potens as an organisation.  It would be severely detrimental to end this contract without further provision being available during the Covid 19 pandemic.  Consequently, this decision was implemented on 1 April 2020 and so cannot now be called-in.
