Strategic investment into a Greater Manchester asset

The Deputy Leader agrees to the need for the Council to support a key asset in Greater Manchester as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The asset is of strategic, economic and financial importance to Manchester, Greater Manchester and the North West and provides a significant number of jobs to local residents.  As such, any delay would seriously prejudice the legal or financial position of the Council or the interest of the interests of the residents of Manchester and as such the Chair of Resources and Governance Scrutiny Committee has agreed to the urgency of this decision and has exempted the decision from Call In
